Kjaer Weis Organic Makeup Review

Kjaer Weis Makeup review by Ula Blocksage

Recently I was fortunate enough to have been sent some beautiful, organic, makeup goodies (including some new releases) from Kjaer Weis. I have loved this brand for a while now and was super excited to put together a full face, makeup review using Kjaer Weis products.

Kjaer Weis is a certified organic and sustainable beauty brand setting a wonderful example for other companies to follow suit. Let’s hope it is only a matter of time until other beauty brands start to become more conscious and aware of what their products are doing to the planet. You can read more about their sustainable practices and organic choices on their website. Not only do their formulas include beautiful ingredients such as Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil and Carnauba Wax, the packing of each individual product is stunning and best of all is refillable! High five for sustainability!!!

This is the look I created… super dewy, hydrated and luminous, and best of all it lasted a whole days in of work and play in Paris.

So, let’s start with the base… For this look I used their Foundation in the soon to be released shade Subtlety, which was a perfect match to my post summer, mini-tan. This foundation goes on like a dream. Easy to apply, no streaking and extremely moisturising. This foundation contains ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, coconut oil and sweet almond oil, which not only gives the product its luxurious texture, but also adds anti-ageing benefits to the foundation. My skin stays luminous all day when I wear this product and I can not tell you how many people comment on my skin whenever I use this as a base.

Next up, I applied the Kjaer Weis Bronzer in their newly released shade Lustrous. I am not really a bronzing kinda gal, but I do like to accentuate the cheek bones a little, every so often. This product contains rosa rubiginosa oil, which helps to minimise the sings of ageing and rather interestingly also helps to reduce scarring… which is perfect for the hyper pigmentation I still harbour on the sides of my face. This product also contains beeswax, which helps to protect the skin and promotes cell reconstruction. I also found that this bronzer worked really well in the crease of my eye, subtly adding a bit more depth to the sockets! This product is a serious multitasker!

I then applied their newly released Highlighter in the shade Ravishing on the top of my cheek bones, down the centre of my nose, my cupids bow and my chin. This highlighter has serious gleam power. I really love this product especially when used in combination with the Kjaer Weis foundation I mentioned above… it’s all I need to create an overall radiant glow. This product also contains key ingredients such as sweet almond oil; a natural emollient for moisture retention and skin elasticity, and jojoba seed oil, which is rich in fatty acids and helps to reduce the signs of ageing!!!

Next up, I applied the Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in the shade Cloud Nine. This eyeshadow is just soooo cute, I like to keep it in my bag to use as a mini highlighter if ever I want to add some shimmer throughout the day, though principally I use this on my eye lids. This eyeshadow contains gardenia florida extract which is a wonderful natural anti-oxidant and bamboo, which is rich in natural silicon which is very important to the synthesis of collagen … and who doesn’t love the idea of extra collagen production around the delicate eye area.

I love dark lashes…big lashes for nights out and a more subtle look for day time. This Mascara is perfect for both day and night wear. The first layer is perfectly light, for a simple day time look. Apply a second coat and you are on your way to thick and full lashes without any of the harmful chemicals found in other cosmetic brands. No nasty ingredients necessary to get the fuller lash look!

And finally, I pulled the look together with the Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in the shade Rapture. This is also a multitasking product… I used this on my lips and on my cheeks as a cream blush. When applied thinly to the lips it adds a beautiful finish to an understated look and when applied in full force this velvety, smooth lip tint adds the perfect pop of colour to any look and for any skin tone. This lip tint is moisturising and very nourishing. It contains gardenia florida fruit extract, an antioxidant that works as a natural preservative in the product and also rosa rubiginosa seed oil which has wonderful tissue regeneration properties, which again helps to fight the signs of ageing.

Here is what the full face of makeup looked like after a days worth of wear in sunny Paris. Captured by the wonderful Jim Rosemberg. I did of course reapply the lip tint!
